The Seventh Seal (1957)
As the black death continues to wipe out the population of Europe and religion takes stranglehold over each village, knight Antonius Block returns from the crusades. Disillusioned and seeking answers, he encounters Death and makes a bargain: his fate will be determined by a game of chess. Ingmar Bergmans classic tale is still totally watchable, enjoyable and thought provoking.
