The Child (1977)
Set in a strange town in the US, next to woodlands and an old cemetary, a young governess is employed to look after a young girl called Rosalie. What no one understands is that little Rosalie possesses strange psychic powers and spends many evenings alone in the nearby cemetery talking and playing with her friends. Controlled by Rosalie, these 'friends' are used at her disposal. Exploitation king Harry Novak is behind this one, and although peppered with gore the film is simply a mess. Chaotic, disorientating, odd but ultimately charming and enjoyable. You gotta love genre films from this era and if you do there's a lot to enjoy here. Simply weird.
